Little Witch Goes to School: A Step 2 Book
July 01, 1998
Description:
Little Witch wants to go to school just like her friends, but her mother thinks she should stay home and learn from her witchy aunts. Mother Witch finally agrees to let Little Witch go, but only if she promises to be very, very bad. It's a wild ride on a broomstick that kids won't soon forget! The third book in the popular Little Witch series, "Little Witch Goes to School has all the mixed-up magic and quirky humor kids have come to love in the first two books.
Children's Literature Review: Little Witch is much too nice to be a witch. Her mother likes it when she complains, and when she is bad. Little Witch desperately wants to go to school just like the other kids. Her mother finally relents, extracting a promise that Little Witch will misbehave and won't make friends. At school, Little Witch cleans up the room with a magic spell and otherwise charms the teacher and students. All is well, because her mother praises her for disobeying her command to be bad. Readers who are old enough to get the joke, or who enjoy being contrary themselves, will enjoy Little Witch. Reviewed by Dr. Judy Rowen.
