The Night Before Kindergarten
June 01, 2001
Description:
Colorful illustrations illuminate this uplifting takeoff on the classic Clement C. Moore Christmas poem as excited kids prepare for the first day of kindergarten.
Children's Literature Review: It's the eve of the first day of school in this adorable takeoff on the classic Clement C. Moore Christmas poem. The children are busily preparing for their first day of kindergarten, packing school backpacks and dreaming of school supplies. The highly anticipated day arrives and they pose for pictures and prepare to say goodbye to Mom and Dad. Miss Sunrise and her delightful classroom filled with books, toys and fun activities make saying good-bye easy, for the children at least. Teary-eyed parents need a bit more support--a final hug and a happy wave and the happy children are free to discover how much fun kindergarten really is. This colorful story provides a way to calm those first day jitters. This would be a great gift for preschool graduation. Parents and children will both love the surprise ending.
