Children's Literature Review: Zack Jennings has a highly developed imagination--or does he? Zack can see faces inside trees and he knows what those faces want--to get out of the tree and hurt him. When his father remarries and Zack goes to live in his grandfather's house, he is not necessarily surprised when the tree by the highway gives him a bad feeling.
