About the book:

Description: The New York Times bestselling series about the scandalous lives of rich and famous teens in Beverly Hills, California.
High school is officially over and that means one thing for the A-List: time to party! But the celebration is cut short when unlikely pair Anna and Cammie find themselves in an even more unlikely situation--caught trespassing on a celeb's beach estate--and are forced to don steel handcuffs along with their Tiffany tennis bracelets. Luckily, the girls are spared a summer stuck in tacky orange jumpsuits when their hotshot lawyer lands them a cushy community service gig: helping plan a fabulous charity fashion show! But while it may seem like a plush job, Anna and Cammie are in for a challenge. Can the girls handle the pressure of the vicious fashion world? Or will they fall to pieces faster than a cheap Louis Vuitton knockoff?

What critics think:

Children's Literature Review: Designer clothes, expensive cars, champagne, and Tiffany jewelry. The teenagers in this story are rich and spoiled but, in the end, good at heart. Annie and Cammie are not really friends; they are only connected through mutual pal Sam. When the two of them are caught trespassing, they are forced to perform community service. Of course in this world of glamour, that means they help out with a charity fashion show. In between choosing outfits, selecting models, and drinking champagne, they meet Champagne, a teen from the opposite life. When clothing starts to go missing and Champagne is accused of stealing, the two girls band together to find the real thief. The main star of this book is the lifestyle: rich teens spending a lot of money. There is only the glimmer of a lesson at the end, and many of the side stories are left unresolved. Despite these flaws, girls will love this book. They will treat it like a good piece of gossip.
