Our store is located in the heart of Downtown Oak Park, Illinois. This Chicago Western Suburb is best known as a popular tourist destination, boasting the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright designed residential properties in the world, tours of Ernest Hemingway's birthplace and boyhood homes and the Ernest Hemingway Museum, and viewings of Tarzan creator Edgar Rice Burroughs' three Oak Park homes.

Our store is located only 10 miles west of the Chicago loop, on the North East Corner of the intersection of Harlem Avenue and Lake Street?just look for the building marked by a nostalgic 1929 Marshall Field's clock!

Street side parking and garage parking (newly renovated and just north of our store) are available and within walking distance.  Public transportation is also available, just several steps away, including: Chicago Transit Authority Bus and Green Train Line, Metra UP-West Line, and Pace bus.

Our store is well known for being a cross between a commuter and neighborhood store with thousands of books, CDs, and DVDs to choose from; Borders is your home for everything that educates, informs, and entertains.

Your Oak Park Borders is a two floor store where each floor has its own adventure in reading and entertainment. Highlights include: our ground level where you can see the hottest trends in our Paperchase shop, pick-up your favorite literary book, travel the world via our travel department, or whip up your favorite dish with help from the best of our cooking department. We also invite you to visit our Seattle's Best Cafe where you can sit down in the glass surrounded atrium, relax, and enjoy the smoothest drinks in the area!

Follow the steps down to the lower level of the store and you'll find our newly expanded Manga Department near our Music and Movie sections. Don't forget to bring the kids to our Kids Department with a wide range of books, music, toys, and fun.
