Shipping Preferences for Multiple Items

When ordering multiple items on Borders.com, you have the option of shipping the order in as few packages as possible or as items become available. Shipping as items become available may be more advantageous to you if items in your order have varying availability times. Additional shipping charges may apply, however, if you opt to ship items as they become available since this may result in multiple shipments.

Free Shipping Eligibility

There are two ways to qualify for free shipping on Borders.com:

• Free Standard Shipping on Orders of $25 or More
• Free Standard Shipping on Any Orders Shipped to a Store

Free Shipping Promotion
You are eligible to receive FREE standard shipping on your Borders.com order when you spend $25 or more on qualifying items.

What Do I Have to Do?

• Place at least $25 of eligible merchandise in your cart
• Proceed to Checkout and choose "Standard Delivery" (should be pre-selected) and "Group items into as few shipments as possible." Free shipping does not apply if you choose to ship items as they become available.
• Complete Your Checkout

Free Delivery applies to shipping and handling expenses on purchases of $25 or more of qualifying items shipped within the U.S. (Includes orders shipping to PO Boxes, military addresses (APO/FPO) and U.S. protectorates such as Puerto Rico.) The minimum $25 purchase is calculated before the Borders Bucks, but not before other promotional discounts (including organizational discounts, and/or coupons) are applied. Free Delivery also applies to gift cards. Charges relating to shipping, handling, gift-wrapping, and taxes will not be included to meet the $25 minimum. The free shipping promotion will not apply to any order where cancellations bring the amount of qualifying purchases to less than $25; Borders.com reserves the right to charge applicable shipping and handling costs to any such order. Borders.com may change or discontinue this free shipping promotion at any time.

Ship to Store

Get free standard shipping when you ship your Borders.com order to a Borders, Borders Express, or Waldenbooks store!

During the checkout process:

• Choose the option of shipping to a store
• Enter the ZIP code or city and state for a store near you
• Select the store location
• Provide your email and billing address
• Complete the payment process for your order
• Print your order confirmation

You will be notified by email of the estimated arrival date to the store. When your order has arrived, you will receive a telephone call from the store. Please wait for the call before going to pick up your order. Then visit the store and present a valid ID.

Please note:
Store Pickup is only available in U.S. and Puerto Rico stores, excluding Borders Outlet and airport locations. Delivery to stores in Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico may take 2-3 weeks. Store pickup is not available for Borders Marketplace orders.

Shipping charges apply for expedited shipping.

Title Availability Information

The availability estimate listed on the item detail page tells you if we have copies in stock ready to ship in one of our fulfillment centers. If the item is not in stock, the availability estimate tells you how long we think it will take for our suppliers to receive the item.

Sometimes when availability of an item has changed within the last several hours, we will alert you of a change in status in the shopping cart or as you check out. If you do see an alert of a status change in one of those places, that will reflect our most recent information on that item.

Usually Ships in 24 Hours means that as of our last warehouse update we had this item available in one of our fulfillment centers. So with standard domestic U.S. shipping, which takes 3-8 business days, a title with this availability should arrive in 4-9 business days.

Backorder - Usually Ships within 2 Weeks means that this item is not currently in stock, but more are on the way and should arrive in the warehouse in that timeframe. With standard domestic U.S. shipping, an item with this availability will then take an additional 3-8 business days to arrive.

Backorder - Usually Ships in 2-4 Weeks means that the item is backordered and is not in stock at any of our fulfillment centers, but we expect it to arrive in our warehouse within 2-4 weeks after your order. With standard domestic U.S. shipping, an item with this availability will then take an additional 3-8 business days to arrive.

Backorder - Usually Ships in 4-8 Weeks means that the item is backordered and is not in stock at any of our fulfillment centers, but we expect it to arrive in our warehouse within 4-8 weeks after your order. With standard domestic U.S. shipping, an item with this availability will then take an additional 3-8 business days to arrive.

Pre-Order means that the item is available for order and usually ships within 24 hours of the future release date. The release date is provided by the publisher and may change without notice to Borders.com. As soon as Borders.com is aware of the new release date; the item will be made available for shipment, usually within 24 hours of this date.

Shipping and Handling
Shipping and handling charges include both per-order and per-item charges. Per-item charges vary based on the type of item ordered and the delivery option you choose.

Special Situations
Weather, natural disasters, and other events beyond our control may affect shipping and delivery times.

Correctional Institutions
If you are shipping to a prison, we urge you to pay careful attention to its regulations and procedures. Facilities differ on the items they permit, shipping methods that may be used, and how to address a package.

Ship to Store
Get free standard shipping when you ship your Borders.com order to a Borders, Borders Express, or Waldenbooks store. This shipping option applies to orders shipping to Borders, Borders Express and Waldenbooks store locations within the United States (including Hawaii and Alaska) and Puerto Rico. Delivery to stores in Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico may take 2-3 weeks. Please see our Domestic Extensions shipping chart for estimated delivery times.

Domestic U.S.

Domestic shipping covers all U.S. addresses with the exception of P.O. boxes, military addresses (APO/FPO) and U.S. protectorates such as Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands. For orders to P.O. boxes, military addresses and U.S. protectorates, see our Domestic Extensions shipping chart. Delivery to Hawaii and Alaska may take 1-2 weeks longer than stated in the Domestic U.S. shipping chart.

If you are sending an order to a military base, follow this format when entering the address information during checkout:

Country/Region: United States
First Name: The title and first name of the recipient
Last Name: The last name of the recipient
Street Address: Enter the unit and/or PO Box number and select the checkbox next to "This address is a PO Box or an APO/FPO."
City: Enter either APO or FPO
State/Province: Choose the correct Armed Forces address from the drop down
Zip/Postal Code: The 5 digit zip code
Phone Number: A 10 digit phone number without dashes
Email Address: An email address where information about your order can be sent

Customs Charges (International Shipments)

We are required by law to note that the contents of international packages contain books, music, or video and to state the full value of the shipment, even if the package contains a gift.

Customs charges will be levied when the package reaches your country. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient of the order and will vary by country. Borders.com is not responsible for these charges and cannot provide estimates as to what these charges may be. You may wish to contact your local customs office for further information.

Borders.com and its shipping partners are not able to influence local delivery practices. The arrival times shown for International shipping indicate the amount of time it will take for your order to reach your recipient's local postal office. The time it takes to get your order from the local post office to your recipient's address can vary from country to country. Delivery may be delayed by customs/import duties and local postal requirements.

Canceling or Modifying an Order

Borders.com strives to meet customer demands for prompt service and delivery. To facilitate this goal, we process and ship orders throughout the day. Unfortunately, there is no way for us to cancel or modify an order once it has entered the fulfillment process.

We cannot stop delivery once an order has been processed for shipping. You will receive an email notification when your order has shipped. In this case, you may return your order to us within 30 days of the shipment date listed on your packing slip. More information on returns can be found in our Returns Policy.

Back-ordered items may be canceled at any time prior to entering the fulfillment process. To cancel a back-ordered item, please contact our Customer Care Department at 800.770.7811. Customers outside of the U.S. may contact us at 615.287.1704.

Order Status/Tracking an Order

You may check the status of your order at any time by signing into your account and clicking on "Order Status" located in the top right section on the homepage. Order history will be displayed for you, including order date, order number, order status, and total price. By clicking on "View Order Details," you can see all details for that particular order including the tracking information for shipped orders (excluding gift card orders and orders shipping internationally). This page can also be printed for your records.

If you placed an order as a guest, you may still check your order status. Just click on "Order Status" in the top right section of any page. You can then enter the order number and the last name from the Billing Address to access the status of that order.
