Mark Bierley
Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, Finance

Mark Bierley was appointed Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, in January 2009. He has more than 20 years of financial leadership experience and 13 years with Borders Group.

Mark joined the company in 1996 as Manager, Store Inventory Control and was promoted a year later to Director, Inventory Control. He was named Vice President, Financial Planning and Reporting in 2003, a post he held for four years before being named Senior Vice President of Finance approximately one year ago. Prior to beginning his career with Borders Group, Mark held other financial management positions at Price Waterhouse, Federal Mogul Corporation and Dunham's Sporting Goods.

Mark holds a bachelor's degree in business/accounting from Michigan State University and earned an MBA from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. He is a certified public accountant.
